This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Syracuse and North Carolina. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams collectively during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Syracuse vs North Carolina college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds the threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 points, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For postponements, if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored in the 4th quarter count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Generally, prediction markets like Kalshi often reflect information not immediately captured by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are set by experts, while this market aggregates the wisdom of many individuals, potentially leading to different probabilities. If there's a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that the crowd believes there's an edge not yet priced into the sportsbook lines. However, these differences can fluctuate as new information becomes available and as both markets adjust their assessments of the game’s likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable traders are those who correctly anticipate market movements. The market price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, creating a dynamic and informative view of expectations for the game.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official 4th quarter total of the Syracuse vs North Carolina game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics and used to determine which contracts pay out. Traders will be able to see the resolution details on Kalshi once the official results are available, and payouts will be processed accordingly. This ensures a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants.
Several factors could influence this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Syracuse or North Carolina would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they impact the teams’ offensive strategies, could also shift expectations. In-game performance during the first three quarters, such as a dominant offensive showing or a surprising defensive adjustment, could also lead to adjustments in the price of contracts for the Syracuse vs North Carolina 4th quarter. Any significant shift in public sentiment or expert analysis could also impact trading activity.
