These markets track how decisively either team wins the final quarter of a college football game, focusing specifically on the point differential achieved in that single quarter. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points needed for a win to be considered significant.
The markets resolve based on the point differential in the fourth quarter (excluding overtime) of the Syracuse vs North Carolina college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. For markets where North Carolina must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if North Carolina’s lead at the end of the fourth quarter exceeds that threshold. Conversely, for markets where Syracuse must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if Syracuse’s lead at the end of the fourth quarter exceeds that threshold. Only points scored during the fourth quarter count toward these thresholds. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe the sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price on Kalshi will move accordingly, potentially offering better value than what’s available at a sportsbook. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their contracts increase in value before the market closes. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust the perceived probabilities of different outcomes, creating a real-time assessment of the likely fourth-quarter spread.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final point spread in the fourth quarter of the Syracuse vs North Carolina game will be used to determine which contracts payout. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders will receive payouts based on whether their purchased contracts align with the actual final point spread.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Syracuse or North Carolina teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in coaching strategies or unexpected lineup adjustments could also impact the perceived probabilities. Furthermore, real-time game performance during the first three quarters could shift trader sentiment, especially if one team establishes a substantial lead or struggles unexpectedly. Public perception and any late-breaking analysis from sports commentators could also contribute to price fluctuations.
