Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to predict the outcome accurately. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in how each assesses the probabilities. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available or as the event draws closer.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the event's likelihood, driven by the participants themselves.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Sydorchuk vs. Bolnyh match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual result and settle the market accordingly. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out based on the final market price.
