Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability as assessed by traders. Therefore, you might observe discrepancies between the two. It's common to see prediction markets, like this one, reflecting collective wisdom and potentially identifying value where sportsbooks may have mispriced an outcome. Comparing them can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each player winning. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts accordingly, providing a dynamic assessment of the likely result. The current price indicates what the collective market believes is the chance of a particular outcome occurring.

Resolution will be based on the official result of the qualification match between Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Aleksandar Kovacevic at the Swiss Indoors Basel tournament.
