Prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbooks, as they aggregate the knowledge and insights of many individuals. While sportsbooks set initial lines to balance betting action, this market allows traders to continuously update their beliefs based on new information. This dynamic pricing can lead to odds that more closely align with the true probability of an outcome. However, sportsbooks may offer different types of wagers not available here, and liquidity can vary significantly between the two. It’s beneficial to compare both to gain a comprehensive view.
Prices on Polymarket and Limitless can differ due to variations in trader demographics, liquidity, and market-making activity. Polymarket and Limitless can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying risk appetites and information sets, which influences their willingness to buy or sell at certain prices. Additionally, the specific mechanisms for price discovery—how orders are matched and updated—differ between Polymarket and Limitless. These factors can lead to temporary discrepancies in the implied probability of the outcome of the Kym vs Rinderknech match, even though both markets track the same underlying event.
