Prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance betting action, while this market relies on the wisdom of the crowd. If a large number of traders believe one player is more likely to win, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially diverging from sportsbook lines. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of prediction markets where opinions are continuously updated as new information becomes available. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more accurate probabilities, especially closer to the event.
