Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it could signal an opportunity for value betting, assuming you believe the market has identified an edge. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees an accurate prediction.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust, reflecting the collective forecast. Higher volume generally indicates greater confidence and a more accurate assessment of the event's potential results. The current price movements indicate how traders are interpreting available information about the Kalieva vs Ma match.
