Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd and may be less influenced by initial biases or public perception. It's common to see this market’s implied probabilities diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
