Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can sometimes diverge from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own analysis and information. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team’s chances, you may see the odds on Kalshi move in the opposite direction. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially in response to breaking news or late-developing insights.
