This market assesses how many points Stanford and Louisville will score together in the second quarter of their college football game. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed various thresholds, offering different levels of difficulty for forecasting the quarter's offensive output.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of the Stanford vs Louisville college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-quarter points exceed the stated threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance action on both sides and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likely outcome. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of trading activity. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information or shifts in public opinion, potentially leading to odds that diverge from initial sportsbook offerings.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 2nd quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in that result. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded, and incorrect ones result in losses. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to converge towards a fair and accurate assessment of the event's likelihood.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the total points scored in the 2nd quarter of the Stanford vs Louisville game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning contract. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure an objective and transparent outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and any associated payouts following the conclusion of the game and verification of the official score.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the price of contracts in this market. Injury reports for key players on either the Stanford or Louisville teams would likely have a significant impact. Any late-breaking news regarding team strategy or weather conditions could also move the market. Furthermore, as the game progresses and early scoring occurs, the market will react to the changing probabilities of different point totals. Public sentiment and media coverage surrounding the game can also contribute to shifts in trading volume and price.
