Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, reflecting their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to represent the true probabilities as perceived by participants. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, this market allows for dynamic adjustments based on a wider range of information and real-time sentiment, potentially revealing discrepancies compared to initial sportsbook offerings.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team, if any, scores the first goal in the first half of the Stade Rennais vs. Strasbourg match. Official match data will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the result against trusted sports data providers to ensure accuracy and transparency, and the shares will be settled accordingly based on the confirmed result.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Stade Rennais or Strasbourg would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect the playing style or field conditions, could also move the market. Additionally, any pre-match analysis or expert opinions suggesting a shift in the perceived advantage of either team could drive trading volume and alter the probabilities reflected in the share prices.
