In the upcoming match between Stade Rennais FC 1901 and Lille OSC, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Stade Rennais FC 1901" if Stade Rennais FC 1901 are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "Lille OSC" if Lille OSC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Ligue 1 (https://www.ligue1.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning with but sometimes diverging from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks establish odds based on models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates the collective insight of many individual traders. If there’s a significant difference, it could indicate that prediction market participants believe the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information or shifts in public perception, potentially leading to earlier or more accurate odds than those found at sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether Stade Rennais or Lille OSC will score first in the first half. As more shares are bought for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling shares lowers the price. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as interpreted by the collective trading activity on Polymarket. The current implied probability of Stade Rennais scoring first is 48.5%.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, if either, scores the first goal during the first half of the Stade Rennais vs. Lille OSC match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Any goals scored during stoppage time added to the first half will be included in determining the outcome of this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Stade Rennais or Lille OSC would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also move the market. Unexpected news related to team morale or internal conflicts could also play a role, as traders react to any information that alters their assessment of each team’s chances of scoring first.
