Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates the collective predictions of many individuals. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team’s chances, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of trading activity occurs.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the aggregated sentiment. Currently, the most likely outcome, according to Polymarket traders, is neither team to score first, with a chance percentage of 100.0%. The total volume traded on this market is $0.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, particularly to key attacking players, would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the perceived likelihood of goals being scored. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from sports commentators and analysts, as well as any late-breaking team news or tactical adjustments, could all contribute to movement in this market. Unexpected lineup changes are another potential catalyst.
