Frequently asked questions

It’s common to see differences between the odds offered on Polymarket and those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets allow traders to directly set prices based on their beliefs. This can sometimes lead to more favorable odds on Polymarket, particularly if there's a strong consensus among traders that differs from the general public’s expectation. However, sportsbook odds reflect the views of professional oddsmakers and may incorporate information not yet fully priced into this market.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about which team will score first. As more shares are bought for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share represents the probability of that team scoring first, as perceived by the traders on Polymarket. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their views.

This market resolves around Oct 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines vs. Sint Maarten match. If neither team scores, the 'Neither team to score first' outcome will be considered the result. The platform will verify the result against official match data to determine the winning outcome for this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team strategy or coaching decisions could also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting activity on traditional sportsbooks, if widely reported, might cause traders on Polymarket to reassess their probabilities and adjust their positions accordingly, leading to price movement.
