In the upcoming match between SSC Napoli and SS Lazio, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 6:30 AM ET: This market will resolve to "SSC Napoli" if SSC Napoli are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "SS Lazio" if SS Lazio are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Serie A (https://www.legaseriea.it/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, the price in this market will move accordingly. It is common to see prediction market odds converge towards the true probability as more information becomes available and trading volume increases, potentially offering a more accurate assessment than traditional betting options.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether SSC Napoli or SS Lazio will score first in the first half. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective probability assigned by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current probability of SSC Napoli scoring first is 48.5%, as indicated by the share price. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and sentiment surrounding the event.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, SSC Napoli or SS Lazio, scored the first goal during the first half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and confirmed by sources recognized for their accuracy in sports reporting. The resolution will be binary—either SSC Napoli scored first, or SS Lazio did—and the market will settle accordingly, distributing payouts to those who correctly predicted the first goalscorer.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either SSC Napoli or SS Lazio would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also shift expectations. Even general news about team morale or recent performance could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even significant pre-match analysis from respected football commentators, could also contribute to fluctuations in the price of shares in this market.
