Generally, prediction markets like Polymarket often reflect information and insights different from those priced into traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or simply the dynamics of how each venue operates. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the event’s probability.
