Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by analysts who consider various factors, including team statistics and expert opinions. This market, however, is driven by traders who are directly incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. As a result, you may find that the probabilities implied by Polymarket diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, especially as new information becomes available and more traders participate.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in AC Monza to score first, for example, the price of those shares will increase, and the price of shares representing SS Lazio will decrease. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the traders on the platform, creating a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team scoring first in the second half.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—SS Lazio or AC Monza—scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the outcome is officially confirmed and reported.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either SS Lazio or AC Monza could significantly shift probabilities. Tactical changes announced by either team’s manager, or even the starting lineup itself, could also impact the market. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half, such as a red card or a dominant performance by one team, could lead to substantial movements in the odds. Unexpected weather conditions on Oct 11, 2026 might also play a role in influencing trader sentiment.
