Description

This market refers to the cricket match between Sri Lanka and England scheduled for October 29, 2026. This market will resolve to 'Sri Lanka' if Sri Lanka is officially declared the winner of the match, and to 'England' if England is officially declared the winner. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and often incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the crowd believes a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular result. Examining these differences can be a valuable exercise for informed decision-making, though it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing their predictions. The price of each contract reflects the current market consensus on the probability of that outcome occurring. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The market depth, visible on the dashboard, shows the volume of buy and sell orders at different price levels, indicating the strength of conviction among traders.

This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Sri Lanka vs England match, as declared by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against publicly available and trusted sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual event result. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, weather forecasts impacting playing conditions, or even significant shifts in public perception could all cause the odds to move. Unexpected announcements related to the match schedule or venue could also have an impact. Monitoring these signals and assessing their potential effect on the outcome is crucial for traders looking to capitalize on market fluctuations and refine their predictions.
