Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by supply and demand – if many traders believe one outcome is likely, the price of shares in that outcome will increase. Therefore, discrepancies can arise, and sometimes prediction markets can be more accurate than sportsbook odds, especially when accounting for information not fully priced in by bookmakers.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different possible outcomes of the Sporting FC vs. San Carlos second half. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to new information and changing expectations regarding the match’s second half.

This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the Sporting FC vs. AD San Carlos match, as determined by the governing football league. The market will determine which outcome – a win for Sporting FC, a win for AD San Carlos, or a draw – occurred during the second half. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either Sporting FC or AD San Carlos could shift trader sentiment. Additionally, real-time performance during the first half of the match, such as early goals or red cards, will likely have a significant impact. Unexpected weather conditions or referee decisions could also play a role in moving the market as traders react to evolving circumstances and reassess the probabilities of each outcome.
