Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information sources and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own modeling and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market's life, as prediction markets can incorporate unique insights and react quickly to new information. Analyzing these differences can reveal where public opinion diverges from professional analysis.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective probability assigned to that outcome by the traders. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the odds are constantly updating as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions. The goal is for the market price to accurately represent the true probability of each outcome, as perceived by the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official outcome of the Southern Illinois vs. South Dakota game, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Resolution will occur promptly after the game concludes and the final score is officially recorded. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.
