Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the wisdom of the crowd effect. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk assessment, while this market reflects the collective predictions of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially driving the odds in a different direction. This dynamic can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, or at least representing a broader range of opinions, than those found at conventional sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, indicating growing confidence in that outcome. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price. This creates a dynamic and responsive market where odds adjust in real-time based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective intelligence of the traders participating.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Sonic Boom versus Wonju DB Promy game as reported by the Korean Basketball League. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in the market, and winning shares will be paid out accordingly. It’s important to monitor news sources and official league announcements as the resolution date approaches to understand how the outcome will be determined and verified.
Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or unexpected coaching decisions could significantly impact trader sentiment. Game-day performance, early scoring trends, and key player matchups during the game itself will also likely cause fluctuations in the odds. Furthermore, broader news related to the Korean Basketball League, such as rule changes or controversies, could also affect trading volume and price discovery on Polymarket. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential market movements.
