Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular result, the prediction market odds may move in the opposite direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before major events, as new information emerges and influences traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The market’s price discovery process is driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and increased supply driving them down. This creates a dynamic and real-time estimate of the event’s likelihood.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
