Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when significant information isn't yet reflected in sportsbook lines. If a large number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, the odds on Polymarket may move in the opposite direction. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, particularly when there’s asymmetric information or strong public sentiment.
