Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a more nuanced view of potential outcomes than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit, while prediction markets allow participants to directly bet against each other. This can lead to more efficient price discovery. For this market, the collective wisdom of traders may differ from initial sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges. Comparing the implied probabilities from both sources can reveal discrepancies and potential value for informed bettors.
