Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources. Sportsbooks set odds to maximize profit, incorporating a margin for themselves, while prediction markets are driven by participants who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market reflects the collective belief of informed traders, potentially revealing insights not fully captured by sportsbooks. However, both types of odds aim to represent the probability of an event occurring, and discrepancies can present opportunities for arbitrage.
