Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on models and internal analysis, while this market is driven by real money changing hands as individuals express their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets may incorporate information not fully captured by sportsbook algorithms. However, both types of odds aim to accurately represent the probability of an event occurring, and significant differences can present arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.
