Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially differing from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides of a bet, while this market is driven purely by individuals’ willingness to buy or sell based on their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the same data. Examining these differences can provide valuable insights into the perceived probabilities of each outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders can buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the pricing on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official result of the Shevchuk vs. Ivchenko match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the outcome against widely available and trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final result.

Several signals could influence this market before Oct 31, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected performance in prior matches could shift the perceived probabilities. Public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, might also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting activity – a large influx of volume on one outcome – could cause the price to move, indicating a change in market belief. Monitoring these factors can help traders assess potential shifts in the odds.
