This prediction market resolves based on the outcome of a single CBA basketball game between the Shenzhen Leopards and the Jilin Northeast Tigers. The market asks who will win the game, with a 50-50 resolution in the event of cancellation without a rescheduled game.
The event resolves based on the winner of the designated China CBA basketball game between Shenzhen Leopards and Jilin Northeast Tigers. If either team wins the match as originally scheduled, the corresponding market will resolve to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves according to the official result. If the game is cancelled or fails to start within the 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi clarifies it holds no official affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
In the upcoming CBA game, scheduled for October 30 at 7:35AM ET: If the Jilin Northeast Tigers win, the market will resolve to "Jilin Northeast Tigers". If the Shenzhen Leopards win, the market will resolve to "Shenzhen Leopards". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the underlying mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to ensure profit, incorporating a 'vig' or commission. Prediction markets, however, are driven by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to more efficient price discovery, though sportsbook odds still reflect expert analysis and public perception. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges regarding this market.
