All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the probability of each exact score. If a significant discrepancy exists, opportunities may arise for arbitrage, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that prediction markets are forward-looking and incorporate new information quickly, potentially leading to faster adjustments than sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective assessment of the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of a share indicates the implied probability of that outcome, and the total volume traded demonstrates the level of interest in each potential result.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Shelbourne FC vs. Waterford FC match—specifically, the exact score—will determine the winning shares. The resolution will be based on the official match data published by a reputable sports data provider, ensuring an objective and verifiable outcome for this market. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the resolution is finalized on Polymarket.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either Shelbourne FC or Waterford FC could significantly impact the perceived probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even pre-match analysis from respected football commentators, could also shift market sentiment. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants could indicate new information or a change in expectations, causing prices to fluctuate before Oct 30, 2026.
