This market refers to the cricket match between Western Australia and New South Wales Blues scheduled for October 18 2026 at 10:30 PM ET in Sheffield Shield. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from professional oddsmakers. Often, prediction markets can offer different probabilities, especially as new information emerges or if a significant number of participants hold a contrarian view. While sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market reflects the collective beliefs of individuals actively trading on Polymarket. Differences can arise due to varying levels of information, biases, or simply differing interpretations of the available data.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the aggregated sentiment. The more shares purchased for a specific outcome, the higher its price will climb, indicating increasing confidence among traders. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and evolving expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Sheffield Shield match between Western Australia and New South Wales Blues, as declared by the governing body. The market will determine which team emerges victorious in the contest. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final, official outcome of the match as reported by trusted sources.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather conditions impacting play could influence trading activity. Unexpected performance during the match itself, such as a dominant batting or bowling display, would also likely cause shifts in the odds. Furthermore, expert analysis or commentary predicting a change in momentum could sway market sentiment. Monitoring these factors will be key to understanding potential price movements in this market.
