This market refers to the cricket match between Tasmania Tigers and Victoria scheduled for October 18 2026 at 7:30 PM ET in Sheffield Shield. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a margin for profit, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant difference emerges between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate disagreement about key factors influencing the match, such as team form, player injuries, or weather conditions. It's important to consider both perspectives when forming your own assessment of the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The current price reflects the collective judgment of those trading on the platform, providing a dynamic assessment of the match's potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Sheffield Shield match between the Tasmania Tigers and Victoria, as declared by the governing body. The market will determine which team is declared the winner of the match, based on standard Sheffield Shield rules and regulations. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes in team lineups would likely cause significant movement. Weather forecasts for the match location could also play a role, as conditions can heavily impact the game. Furthermore, unexpected announcements related to team strategy or pitch conditions could shift trader sentiment. Finally, performance in preceding matches or recent form of individual players could all contribute to changes in the odds on Polymarket.
