This market refers to the cricket match between Tasmania Tigers and New South Wales Blues scheduled for October 29 2026 at 7:30 PM ET in Sheffield Shield. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market represents the collective beliefs of traders. Discrepancies can arise from differing information sources, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of how opinions evolve in a prediction market. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, but it's important to remember they are derived from fundamentally different processes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand; if more traders believe an outcome is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the Sheffield Shield match.
This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Sheffield Shield match between Tasmania Tigers and New South Wales Blues as declared by the governing body. The market will determine which team is declared the winner of the match, and that result will be used to settle all outstanding shares. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result to understand when and how this market will be settled.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Unexpected news regarding player injuries, changes in weather conditions affecting gameplay, or significant shifts in team form could all cause traders to reassess their probabilities. Major announcements about team strategy or key player availability would also likely impact trading activity. Furthermore, any public statements from analysts or experts offering strong opinions on the match’s likely outcome could also contribute to price movements in this market.
