This market refers to the cricket match between Queensland Bulls and Victoria scheduled for October 30 2026 at 8:00 PM ET in Sheffield Shield. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their view, leading to odds that can incorporate more diverse information. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information, such as team news or weather updates, compared to traditional sportsbooks. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of expertise among market participants and sportsbook oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares bought, the higher the price, and vice versa, dynamically adjusting the odds based on supply and demand. This creates a market-driven assessment of the potential result of the Sheffield Shield match, distinct from pre-match analysis or expert opinions.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Sheffield Shield match between the Queensland Bulls and Victoria, as declared by the governing body of the competition. The market will determine which team is declared the winner of the match, based on the standard rules and regulations of the Sheffield Shield. Any potential adjustments or appeals will be considered in determining the final, official result.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Key player injuries or unexpected team selections for either the Queensland Bulls or Victoria would likely cause significant movement. Weather conditions at the match venue could also play a role, potentially favoring one team's playing style over another. Any news regarding pitch conditions or changes to the match schedule could also impact trading activity. Finally, performance in preceding matches or significant changes in team form could shift market sentiment and alter the implied probabilities.
