Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, especially as new information emerges. It's common to see prediction markets reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' more accurately than initial sportsbook lines, though discrepancies can occur based on differing information or market biases.
