Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, differing from those initially set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance action, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. These traders may incorporate unique data or insights not fully captured by traditional oddsmakers. Therefore, you might observe discrepancies between the probabilities implied by this market and those offered by sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges. It's valuable to compare both to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of shares is determined by supply and demand, with traders adjusting their positions based on news, analysis, and their own assessments of the players' chances. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants regarding the Atmane vs Tomic match.

Several factors could influence this market before the match concludes. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or even updated analysis from tennis experts could shift trader sentiment. A significant upset in another qualifying match involving similar players might also cause a reassessment of probabilities. Furthermore, real-time updates during the match itself – like a strong start by one player or a momentum shift – would likely lead to rapid price adjustments. Monitoring these signals is key to understanding potential market movements.
