Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market continuously adjusts based on real-money wagers, potentially identifying discrepancies or overlooked factors in the initial sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. As more traders participate and place bets, the price fluctuates, converging towards a consensus view. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined by supply and demand; if more people believe Draxl will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Draxl vs Basilashvili match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the official result declared by the tournament organizers. This includes confirmation of the winner of the qualification match. The platform will then verify this information against reliable sources to finalize the market and distribute payouts to winning traders. The resolution process aims to be transparent and based on objective, publicly available data.
