Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in opinion. If you find a significant difference between the odds on Polymarket and those offered by sportsbooks, it could indicate an opportunity for value betting, assuming you have a strong conviction about the likely result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. The market's price is driven by supply and demand; if more people believe Tomic will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Shanghai Rolex Masters qualification match between Bernard Tomic and Timofey Skatov as reported by official tournament sources. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual result of the match. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift expectations. For example, if reports emerge that Tomic is struggling with an injury, the market may move in favor of Skatov. Unexpected weather conditions during the match could also play a role. Additionally, large trades on Polymarket by informed traders could create momentum and drive price movements, reflecting new information or a change in sentiment regarding the Tomic vs Skatov match.
