Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the Shanghai Masters doubles market tracks the current odds for Harrison/Skupski to win against Schnaitter/Wallner, along with a price history chart showing how those odds have changed over time. You’ll also find the 24-hour trading volume, which currently stands at $700, and the total volume traded to date, which is $713. The dashboard provides a real-time view of how the prediction market is assessing the likelihood of each outcome.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders' beliefs. Early in the market's life, you may see divergence, but as more information becomes available – such as updated player form or injury reports – the odds on Polymarket tend to converge with those offered by sportsbooks, assuming the sportsbooks adjust to the same information. However, discrepancies can still occur due to differing levels of analysis and market participation.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective prediction. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome will drive its price up, indicating a greater perceived chance of success, while increased selling pressure will lower the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date information and sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the Shanghai Rolex Masters (Doubles) match between Harrison/Skupski and Schnaitter/Wallner. The winning team as declared by the tournament organizers will determine the outcome of this market. No further details regarding the resolution process are available beyond verification against publicly available sources. Traders should monitor official tournament results for confirmation.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding player injuries or changes in team composition for either Harrison/Skupski or Schnaitter/Wallner would likely cause significant movement. Updates on player form, recent match results, or even weather conditions in Shanghai could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected upsets in earlier rounds of the tournament, demonstrating a shift in the competitive landscape, could also shift the odds. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of either team winning is likely to move this market.
