Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd on Polymarket, tends to reflect more purely the probability of an event occurring, though discrepancies can arise due to differing information or biases. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently and accurately as new information becomes available, potentially offering an edge over fixed sportsbook lines.
