Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing promotions or biases, while this market relies on individuals directly expressing their beliefs through trading. If a significant discrepancy exists, it could indicate that PredictionHero users possess information or insights not yet fully priced into sportsbook lines. It’s a useful comparison point for anyone looking to evaluate the perceived probabilities of different outcomes in the Shanghai vs Chengdu soccer match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular team scoring first, the price of those shares increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price reflects the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, offering a dynamic assessment of the potential for either Shanghai or Chengdu to break the deadlock.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
