Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and to balance action on both sides, while this market relies on the collective forecasting ability of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it might suggest that traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share can be interpreted as the probability of that outcome occurring; for example, a share priced at 60 means traders believe there’s a 60% chance of that outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the latest information and insights.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the Servette Geneva versus FC Sion match. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final share price at resolution, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team form, injuries to key players on either Servette or Sion, or changes in coaching strategies could all shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day might also play a role, as could significant tactical adjustments made during the first half of the game. Even public opinion, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can sometimes impact trading activity and, consequently, the price of shares in this market.
