Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of an outcome, though discrepancies can and do occur. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbook odds in terms of accuracy, particularly when a significant amount of volume is traded. Trading volume and order flow directly influence the price, creating a dynamic and responsive market. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding contract will rise, and vice versa.
