Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their books and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of each market. If significant differences exist between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it may signal an opportunity for arbitrage, where traders can profit by exploiting the price difference.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust, reflecting the evolving collective forecast. The current price reflects the aggregated assessment of all traders on Polymarket regarding the potential winner of the KBL championship.

This market resolves around Oct 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the KBL championship series, determining which team—Seoul Thunders or LG Sakers—is crowned the champion. The platform will then verify the official results to settle the market and distribute payouts to winning share holders. Traders should monitor official KBL announcements for updates as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Key player injuries or suspensions on either team would likely cause significant shifts in probabilities. Unexpected changes in team performance, such as a winning or losing streak, could also impact the market. Major news regarding team strategies or coaching changes might also move the market. Finally, any public statements from analysts or experts offering strong opinions on the likely outcome could influence trader behavior and affect the price of shares in this market.
