Prediction market odds often reflect a different set of information and incentives than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds to maximize profit, factoring in a margin for themselves, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. As a result, you may find that the odds on Polymarket diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, particularly as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect the true probabilities of outcomes, especially when there's significant public interest and informed trading activity.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants, and the market is open for trading until it resolves. The more traders who believe in an outcome, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will rise.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Alibek Kachmazov vs Woobin Shin match. The platform will verify the result against publicly available information to determine the winning outcome. Traders who hold shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at resolution. The exact timing of the resolution may depend on the speed at which official results are released.
