Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each exact score. These differences can arise from varying levels of information, analytical approaches, and biases among bettors and prediction market traders. It’s common to see this market adjust more rapidly to new information, such as team news or injuries, than traditional sportsbooks, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market’s implied probability of that score occurring. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers agree. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by factors like expert analysis, news reports, and general sentiment about the match. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.

This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official score of the Senegal vs. Comoros match will be used to determine the winning share(s) in this market. Resolution will occur after the match concludes and the result is widely reported by trusted sports news sources. The platform will then verify the result and distribute payouts to the winning share holders based on the final score.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Senegal or Comoros would likely cause price shifts. Unexpected changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also move the market. Major tactical announcements from either coach, or even significant pre-match analysis from respected football commentators, could sway trader sentiment. Finally, any late-breaking news about team morale or internal conflicts might also impact trading activity and the implied probabilities within this market.
