Description

This group forecasts which team will score the first goal in a soccer match between Seattle Sounders FC and CF Montréal. In the event of a postponement or cancellation, specific rules apply to determine resolution.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define the resolution criteria identically, focusing on the first goal scored during regular play and providing clear fallback procedures for data availability.Primary resolution logic: Official match statistics as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with tiered fallback to Flashscore, Sofascore, and credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score during the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the outcome.
  • If neither team scores within the specified timeframe, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Postponed matches remain open until completion; canceled matches resolve to 'Neither'.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours of the match's conclusion, the resolution will utilize Flashscore, Sofascore, or a consensus of credible reporting. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market will resolve 50-50 (or to 'Draw' where applicable).
  • Score Revisions: Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be considered.
Timing: Resolution will occur after the completion of the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, or as soon as official or fallback data confirms the first scoring team. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a different kind of insight than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their lines, aiming to profit regardless of the outcome. Prediction markets, however, function more as information aggregation tools, where participants directly bet on their beliefs. This can lead to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market’s odds are driven by the collective predictions of informed traders, potentially offering a more nuanced view.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either the Sounders or Montréal would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the perceived probabilities. Additionally, significant shifts in public sentiment, perhaps driven by pre-match analysis or expert opinions, could affect trading activity and shift the odds. Finally, unexpected lineup announcements or tactical changes could also move this market.
