Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs. If prediction market participants believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can capitalize on the discrepancy, driving the prediction market price closer to their collective assessment. It’s common to see differences, especially before significant news or events influence public opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective prediction of all traders on the platform. Higher demand for shares indicating a particular outcome will drive up its price, while increased selling pressure will lower it. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing perspectives.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
