Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the SC Recife vs. São Bernardo match tracks the current odds, price history, and 24-hour trading volume. You can see how the implied probability of each outcome shifts over time as traders buy and sell shares. The current total volume for this market is $24, with $24 traded in the last 24 hours. This allows you to gauge market sentiment and potentially identify opportunities based on discrepancies between your own predictions and the collective wisdom of the crowd.

Prediction market odds often reflect a different set of information and incentives than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, and may be influenced by public betting patterns. This market, however, is driven by individuals directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Therefore, you may find that prediction market prices represent a more accurate forecast, especially when there's a significant difference between public perception and informed analysis. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, creating a real-time forecast of the event's likelihood.

This market resolves around Oct 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first goal in the SC Recife vs. São Bernardo match. The resolution will be based on official match data and sources, ensuring an objective and transparent outcome. The platform will verify the result against established sports data providers to ensure accuracy and finality for all traders participating in this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in coaching staff could significantly impact perceived probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions at the match venue, or even pre-game analysis highlighting a tactical advantage for one team, could also drive price movements. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants—often referred to as 'whales'—can create short-term volatility and signal shifts in market sentiment leading up to Oct 6, 2026.
