This market will resolve to "VfL Wolfsburg" if VfL Wolfsburg are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, incorporating a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to note that prediction market odds are dynamic and change based on trading activity, potentially converging with sportsbook odds as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular team scoring first, the price of those shares increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of traders participating on Polymarket, making it a valuable indicator of expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—Freiburg or Wolfsburg—scores the first goal in the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Trading will cease upon the conclusion of the match, and the market will settle to reflect the actual first goalscorer, or a ‘no goal’ outcome if no goal is scored during regulation time.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Freiburg or Wolfsburg would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, such as a surprising result in a recent match, could also impact trader sentiment. Even weather conditions on match day, potentially favoring a more direct or passing style of play, could subtly move the market. Major tactical announcements from either manager leading up to the game could also cause price fluctuations as traders adjust their expectations.
