Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market’s probabilities are driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both venues. However, it’s important to note that sportsbooks and prediction markets have different costs and incentives, which can lead to sustained differences in implied probabilities.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of shares is determined by supply and demand; if many traders believe SC Farense will win the second half, the price of shares representing that outcome will rise. The current price reflects the collective forecast of all traders participating in this market.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official result of the second half of the SC Farense vs AD Marco 09 match. The platform will verify the outcome against official sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual event result. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final share price at resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either SC Farense or AD Marco 09 could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions or referee assignments might also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting activity or large trades on Polymarket could cause noticeable price movements, as these actions signal shifts in collective belief about the second half result.
